tändstickan
year: 2018
site: Ystad, Sweden
semester: 8
During the first days of the autumn semester of 2018 I first encountered the “struggle” of cultural heritage. We all experience change - everyday. Time often changes the image of a building. Society changes. Generation changes. How can we approach our inherited changes?
This is Ystad. A small town in the most southern parts of Sweden. A town with an old history. Inside of the ruins of what once was a great city wall laid the match fabric. The building was a part of a greater block where different functions shared the courtyard.
Later this corner building was moved to a new location without its surrounding neighbors. The new spot became a square beside the monastery.
A collaboration with Simon Bring. Thank you!
