year: 2019

site: Trelleborg, Sweden

semester: 9

Everyday we commute. For some of us this time can be up to several hours and for these people the risk of mental illnesses is increasing. Trelleborg is a municipality with a great amount of commuting individuals - well you do the math. For a great amount of these people stress is an everyday factor and my proposal is one step to a less stressed or at least a more well rested and healthy community. I am proposing a spa and recreational space in the most central parts of the town. Municipality owned and open for all of us. There will be parts of the building that are “rentable” for external businesses to make extra money for the building.

By joining the features of a rehabilitation clinic, a swimming club with competitions and a public “fun pool” you can make sure that there will be something for us all. Indoors and outdoors, all year round.

After that long commute from Copenhagen or any other city in the region you will be able to end up on the roof top atrium of the bath house, just soaking in the hot tub followed by an aufguss treatment in the grand sauna. Could it be any better?

Result of my project presented in pictures.

Site studies in Trelleborg. Time to get to know the building and its history.
